"Teaching law is more than a profession - it's a calling."

There is no greater joy than to help a student understand, appreciate, and challenge the law all at the same time. I am honored to teach Torts, Equity and Remedies, Civil Procedure, and Learning from Practice.

Before joining the Cooley faculty, I served as a commercial litigation associate at the law firm of Clark Hill, PLC in Detroit, Michigan. I also worked as a commercial litigation contract attorney for the Detroit law firm of Pepper Hamilton, LLP.

During my time in private practice, I handled various complex commercial litigation matters including product liability, labor and employment, breach of contract, property, environmental, asbestos, and business tort disputes.

I am dedicated to expanding law-related education in Michigan, and have co-authored several books aimed toward teaching young people about the law and promoting responsible citizenship. In addition, I helped create an anti-bullying program geared toward teaching young people about the legal, social, and psychological effects of this type of destructive behavior. I am a past recipient of the State Bar of Michigan's prestigious Champion of Justice Award and the NAACP (Saginaw Branch) Community Service Award.

I am actively engaged in State Bar of Michigan committee work and am a member of the Michigan Center for Civic Education board of directors. I am also an Oakland County Bar Foundation Fellow, a Michigan State Bar Foundation Fellow, and I am listed in Who's Who in Law Academia.
